Purpose
Inventor Donald W. Snook, an expert in mold abatement, specially designed Dryframe to hold the base plate. It has ledges that prevent the base plate and drywall from contacting the concrete floor while creating better airflow conditions. That way, if your basement floods or you have a leaky pipe, Dryframe’s drainage holes and nubbed surface protects the walls and helps water to drain away before mold has a chance to get established.

The Problem
If water gets into an area of a structure where it shouldn’t be – due to flooding or a water leak – moisture can get trapped under the base plate.

The Solution

Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Donald W. Snook of Canada has created an innovative new device to elevate a base plate.
As a mold abatement expert, Donald has removed a lot of base plates due to issues like mold and rot. This happens when moisture gets trapped under the base plate and it cannot breathe or dry out quickly. In most cases, when drywall is installed, it comes in contact with the concrete. If there is moisture in the concrete, or even a small amount of water present, it can cause mold or water damage. Donald just knew there had to be a solution. In turn, he was inspired to develop the Dryframe!
The invention has been specially designed to hold a base plate. It has ledges that prevent the base plate and drywall from contacting the concrete floor while creating better airflow conditions. That way, if your basement floods or you have a leaky pipe, drainage holes and a nubbed surface will protect the walls and help water to drain away before mold has a chance to get established.
